Hedgespun items?

Hedgespun items?

Postby Matthew » Mon Oct 11, 2010 1:57 am

Been wondering: How do mundane humans see hedgespun items? Obviously, the more exotic things like armor made out of flame and smoke, or a tiara made of live herrings would attract some attention. But would a mundane-appearing (if flashy) outfit be seen as 'normal' by them?

Just curious as to when and where I can wear my fancy new duds...

Also, isn't there a social bous of some sort when wearing/displaying hedgespun items?

Hedgespun is covered by the Mask. For the most part this means it's not a problem to wear around. Like high Wyrd changelings, things that are patently impossible may strain the Mast to the breaking point allowing some or even all mortals to see the item for what it is.

So a jacket, even a jacket of solid flame, is probably fine. A sword of fire who's blade flies out and fights on it's own is going to be problematic because even if the mask makes flame look as steel it's still flying around stabbing people ten feet away and leaving cauterized wounds.

Now I have images of a Star Wars convention with a rogue, rocket-powered light saber prototype inducing screams of 'Ahhh, my hand!' to 'I WANT ONE!' to 'Hey! My ORIGINAL script had Darth Maul using two-ended rocket blades...I am a genius!". :)

Speaking of awesome weapons that fly to your hand, why isn't anyone using the custom summable weapons I made? That was a really cool idea, but so far, I haven't seen anybody take advantage of that yet.

Because most people didn't ever report getting them and you didn't know who had what. Hence they suffer a lack of existence problem. I know of one character reporting and using them.
