Charred Everything (the local hospital)

Eventually Claire walks up to the emergency room doors, minus the horse she was riding earlier. She looks around for the guy who she sent her friend with.

She finds him sitting in the waiting area chairs tapping away at PSP buttons.

He notices her out of the corner of his eye and looks up.
"He should be fine. Well, not dead or seriously dying..."

'Yeah, he much prefers dying mirthfully. How did the staff respond to yet another John Doe?"

"You know, they seem almost used to this I think."

"So, wanna fill me in on the rest of the story? Well, you don't have to...theyre called 'personal' issues after all."

"Eh, might as well tell you at least some of it, maybe it'll kill some of the rumor milling that goes on around here. Plus, you kind of deserve an explanation for why your night was suddenly hijacked."
Sits down next to him, and leans back with her eyes closed.
"A long while ago, he and I were in an argument over something silly. As generic as it sounds, we both thought our 'job', as it were, was tougher than the others'. Then to compound our stupidity, we proceeded to switch our powers to prove it to each other, and then everything hit the fan. Long story short, I haven't seen him in many years despite constantly looking. And then when I do, we end up coming through a gate high above the clouds without anything remotely like a parachute."

"Oh, so that's what I saw in the sky..."

"That does sound...inconvenient."
His wings twitch slightly when he remembers the time he tried to pull some parkour stunt by leaping across the observatory building rooftops and using his wings plus a wind element contract......all to save a bit of time on the night shift.

Falling isn't very pleasant.

"Then what about you? I mean, aren't you having a hard time as well?"

Opens her eyes a bit. "I'm better at falling than he is."

"..."

How unpleasant.
Note to self. Bisbee is a weird ass place.

Feeling that a change of topic might be nice, Palamedes speaks again.

"So, how long have you stayed here? You know, Bisbee and nearby. I myself moved here not long ago."

"A few years. It's an interesting place, as long as you're careful not to piss off any of the more powerful people around here."

"Hmm, I see..."

While he sat there thinking about all the weird things about Bisbee, silence fell on the room.
There weren't many people there at this hour.
