Arrival

Postby Enigmia » Mon Apr 25, 2011 7:42 pm

It's nighttime in the desert, and the stars are shining bright. It's cool, but not cold, and the sun is only an hour or so from rising. The only sounds are the wind and the occasional scrabble of the nocturnal animals. Suddenly, a bright light drowns out the stars and illuminates the area for several yards to the north. What appears to be a giant hole in the fabric of space has suddenly appeared, and two seconds later someone runs through. She pauses, panting for breath, as the anomaly closes behind her. She eventually straightens up and looks around, a confused look on her face. She pulls out a pocket watch and stares at it's glowong face for a moment, frowning. Then she puts it back in her pocket, scans the beautiful landscape, sighs, and says, "Of all the places it could be, why did it have to be HERE?"

Someone is hiding behind a bunch of rocks, rather poorly but there was much spirit put into it.

Someone is hiding somewhat better behind a bunch of rocks a little back from the other person hiding poorly behind rocks. Straightens up and gives a wave to the newcomer.

The woman kicks a rock in frustration, then notices the two watchers, and her eyes widen. She seems to debate what to do for a few moments, then plasters a smile on her face and walks over to the person who chose to reveal themselves. As she passes by the other observer, she gently pats them on the head and chuckles. Once she is in range of the person waving, she says, "Good morning! Could you please tell me when I am?"

Sufficiently ruffled, Sera Fina stands up, patting her flaming hair down. "2011."

"Good morning! It is 2011, yes." Pats the fireheart affectionately on the head. "April 26th, to be exact. And you are in Bisbee, Arizona. Is that...a problem?"

The woman sighs and shakes her head. "Not quite a problem, no. Have there been any notable events of late? People being maimed, strange disappearences, anything like that?"

(Figured the most common occurences in these games were the best.)

Has to think for a moment. "Nothing too...strange...for the area. There was a gay pride parade the weekend back. Sometimes people get set on fire."

Here looking at Sera Fina sternly. "...but that has a known cause."

"Are you lost?"

The woman smiles slightly. "No, but it would be nice if I was." She thinks for a moment. "Which way is the nearest populated area?"

The knight looks slightly worried at setting this newcomer loose upon the city.

"It's...that way." Point. "I should accompany you, just in case." Eyes the fireheart briefly. Cannot be trusted to be left alone. "Sera, you should come too."
