Another Day

Sometimes you just need to get lost amongst the dunes...

((Lol, I was wondering if you caught that minor blunder there.))

Walking closer, he calls out to whoever may be there...and still living.

"Is anyone alive over there?!"

No answer. The horse snorts at you and stops, turning it's head your way.

"Eh? Something's not right around here..."

He had a bad feeling about things suddenly. And a feeling he ought to call the police...not that if he did, they'd get here anytime soon.

((and suddenly, 3 dots in empathy and none in animal ken doesn't seem like a good situation either lol))

Palamedes walks towards the horse slowly, watching for any heavily aggressive signs. He had no desire to be attacked by a large animal today, but at the same time, he really wanted to know exactly what happened around here.

He takes out a small, flashlight. It's almost out of batteries and not very bright, but should be better than the total darkness.

((I'm a few steps closer now, with a flashlight. Lemme do another perception test.))

Wits + Investigation = 6 -2 for it being the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere. Yay flashlight!

The horse tilts it's head. Then it sniffs towards you.

((I would think being a bit closer would've helped...and living in Davis has proven that a dim flashlight improves night vision by a LOT...but my draw was crap anyways...))

Not sensing anything wrong, he approaches the horse.

((How far from it am I? Another perception test would be stupid, since the -2 and -3 is still being applied despite being 2 meters away from that horse.))

(How close would your character get, and still feel able to run, if this turned out to be something nasty? Probably around there. Let's call it.... 30ft or so?)

The horse looks at him for a moment, then turns its head and nips at one of the forms on its back.
It takes a moment for a response, but finally the figure straightens and looks his way, shading it's eyes.
"Fuck's sake, turn that bloomin' light off, it hurts."

(3 meters, ill chance it.)

He quickly turns off the flashlight.

"Sorry! Didn't mean to disturb you......err...well, I was just passing by and I thought I saw something stra-- uh, out of the ordinary."

The figure shakes it head slowly, "Out of the ordinary....." They start to get off the horse, and end up falling completely off halfway through, despite the efforts of the horse itself.

Slip of the tongue indeed. Bisbee was a pretty interesting place. Nowhere near as "interesting" as the guilds back in Arcadia, but certainly strange enough that weird things are pretty normal.

"A-Are you alright?"

((What do the 2 figures look like?))
