Kwirk's Fruits

Kwirk's Fruits

Field crops (or rather proxy crops since goblin fruit are different)
All 100% organic and slightly addictive, I don't know about what these should be like, I'd wanted them interesting rather than mostly healing or glamor fruits.
• All fruits require a Resolve + Composure test with a cumulative -1(up to -5) when eaten a second time or more. Failure incurs an addiction then requiring a Resolve + Composure to avoid obtaining more when the opportunity presents itself. Withdrawal symptoms include irritability, headaches, and bashing damage.
All fruits grow only with the blessing of a True Fae, Kwirk is, after all, a loyalist. I can only assume he's been sent forth from Arcadia to bring back those who fall victim to his fruit.

spring

Sunflower - Big flowers that glow and incredibly bitter roots. If the latter is eaten it provides toxin resistance. It is pretty good for bitters in beer making.
Root
Rarity: -3
• Grants Toxin Resistance for the duration of the scene.
Sunflower Seeds
Rarity: -2
• The seeds can be dried and eaten. They are simply addictive.

Nuts - Incredibly good for you, a bag of these will sate any appetite.
Rarity: -3
• One set of nuts will remove all penalties and damage from lack of food and provide sustenance for the entire day. They may be somewhat fattening.

Orange - A blood orange, tastes incredibly sweet and meat like. Awakens the savage predator inside, loss of composure but a bonus to something else?
Rarity: -4
• Each fruit eaten heals/downgrades 2 damage caused by blood loss inflicts a -1 to Composure for the scene. In addition each fruit increases the interval of bleeding out by one unit(usually one minuet). Oranges may also be used with Fairy Healing.

summer

Root - A root like a turnip, or rutabega. Extremely high in energy, and extremely spicy. Grants fleet of foot perhaps, maybe a dice bonus.
Rarity: -3
• Each root eaten raw gives constipation and double penalties to taste and smell. Cooked however they provide +1 Fleet of Foot each and -1 to taste and smell tests from the spicy flavor.

Tomatoes - Red and acidic, they heal wounds and clear corrosion.
Rarity: -4
• These tomatoes serve 2 functions. First, when eaten raw or cooked they heal 1 Lethal or 2 Bashing damage. Second, their stewed juices will remove the tarnish or rust from any item they are used to clean. Each tomato can clean 5 points of item size.

autumn

Apple - An orange apple that is so confusing that it makes you ponder, helps with meditation and memory.
Rarity: -3
• Naval gazing apple grants +2 to meditation tests until the end of the scene and +1 to Intelligence tests to remember details.

Spinach/Broccoli hybrid - Greens are always good for you, these have a strange taste that sticks in your mouth but refreshes the soul.
Rarity: -3
• Glamour fruit with a sticky buttery aftertaste and memories of mom's cooking.

Corn - When popped it is lighter than air, can be made into a syrup that is extremely useful and may substitute for a huge number of substances including glue, plastic, etc.
Rarity: -4
• This versatile fruit is handy for he adventurer on the go. Popped kernels are lighter than air, cooked they dissolve into a past that hardens like resin or plastic, pluck a kernel and squeeze to release a small amount of glue, and the shucked cores spin like tops around the room for a scene or until broken or stilled. They are addictive, like the other fruits, but very few would eat them a second time after gluing their mouth shut once.

winter

Strawberry - Incredibly sweet, makes you blush and a slight aphrodisiac. Heals if given by fairy healing, otherwise it simply provides glamour.
Rarity: -3
• If eaten grants a point of arousing glamour, may heal if used with fairy healing.

Squash - Contain a bit of warmth for cold times. Being close to one provides some warmth, if baked and eaten they are healing too.
Rarity: -3
• Faintly warm squash, almost like the heat of a mammal, have a strange red flesh that heals when cooked and eaten. 2 Lethal or Bashing can be healed by this fruit.

Since these things combine pretty well I would like to note the potential for 'hedge-cookin' But of course this would require recipes. One of many things to pursue.

All fruits suffer a -2 to cultivation in the neighboring seasons and a -4 in the opposite season. You can still grow plenty with a greenhouse but it takes more work and better tools.

Fruits from Pon:

Mood-bearing Sunflower - Changes color to match the emotions of whoever's holding it.
Rarity: -2
• Those paying attention to the flower can get a +2 to empathy checks to read the emotions of the subject. Dose not work on those that cannot use goblin fruit.
Sacrifice: A nights dreams.
